HIS MAJESTY, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of the Province of British Columbia, enacts as follows:
CLAUSE 1: [Electoral Districts Act, Schedule 1] renames the electoral district of Peace River North to "Peace River-Northern Rockies".
1 Schedule 1 of the Electoral Districts Act, S.B.C. 2015, c. 39, is amended by striking out "Peace River North" and substituting "Peace River-Northern Rockies".
CLAUSE 2: This provision provides that a reference in any Act, other than this Act, or in any regulation, rule, order, by-law, agreement, or other instrument or document to the electoral district named "Peace River North" shall be read, unless the context otherwise requires, as a reference to the electoral district named "Peace River-Northern Rockies".
2 A reference in any Act, other than this Act, or in any regulation, rule, order, by-law, agreement, or other instrument or document to the electoral district named "Peace River North" shall be read, unless the context otherwise requires, as a reference to the electoral district named "Peace River-Northern Rockies".
Transitional Provisions
CLAUSE 3: [Transition] deems a registration, before the commencement of this Act, under the Election Act for or in relation to the electoral district Peace River North a registration for or in relation to the electoral district of Peace River-Northern Rockies.
3 A registration under the Election Act before the commencement of this Act for or in relation to the electoral district named "Peace River North" shall be deemed to be a registration for or in relation to the electoral district named "Peace River-Northern Rockies", and the Chief Electoral Officer shall change the registry accordingly.
CLAUSE 4: [Transition] deems a publication, before the commencement of this Act, under the Election Act for or in relation to the electoral district Peace River North a registration for or in relation to the electoral district of Peace River-Northern Rockies.
4 A publication under the Election Act before the commencement of this Act for or in relation to the electoral district named "Peace River North" shall be deemed to be a publication for or in relation to the electoral district named "Peace River-Northern Rockies".
