AND CLIMATE CHANGE STRATEGY
HER MAJESTY, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of the Province of British Columbia, enacts as follows:
CLAUSE 1: [Protected Areas of British Columbia Act, Schedule A]
1 Schedule A of the Protected Areas of British Columbia Act, S.B.C. 2000, c. 17, is amended
(a) by adding the following description:
BIG WHITE MOUNTAIN ECOLOGICAL RESERVE
All those parcels or tracts of Crown land, together with all that foreshore or land covered by water, situated in Similkameen Division, Yale District and contained within the described boundaries as shown on the Official Plan deposited in the Crown Land Registry as Plan 13 Tube 2015.
The whole ecological reserve containing approximately 953 hectares. , and
(b) by repealing the description of Burnt Cabin Bog Ecological Reserve and substituting the following:
BURNT CABIN BOG ECOLOGICAL RESERVE
All those parcels or tracts of Crown land, together with all that foreshore or land covered by water, situated in Range 5, Coast District and contained within the described boundaries as shown on the Official Plan deposited in the Crown Land Registry as Plan 1 Tube 2024; except (1) Wood Lots WL 1512 A and WL 0100; and (2) the Crown Land referred to in Crown Lands File 6402590, as subject to an electric power line.
The whole ecological reserve containing approximately 669 hectares.
CLAUSE 2: [Protected Areas of British Columbia Act, Schedule B]
2 Schedule B is amended
(a) by striking out "Big White Mountain Ecological Reserve, established by Order in Council 1166/72", and
(b) by striking out "Tsikita River Ecological Reserve" and substituting "Tsitika River Ecological Reserve".
CLAUSE 3: [Protected Areas of British Columbia Act, Schedule C]
3 Schedule C is amended
(a) by repealing the description of Blue River Black Spruce Park and substituting the following:
BLUE RIVER BLACK SPRUCE PARK
All those parcels or tracts of Crown land, together with all that foreshore or land covered by water, situated in the Kamloops Division, Yale District and contained within the described boundaries as shown on the Official Plan deposited in the Crown Land Registry as Plan 10 Tube 2023.
The whole park containing approximately 236 hectares. ,
(b) by repealing the description of Christina Lake Park and substituting the following:
CHRISTINA LAKE PARK
All those parcels or tracts of Crown land, together with all that foreshore or land covered by water, situated in Similkameen Division, Yale District and contained within the described boundaries as shown on the Official Plan deposited in the Crown Land Registry as Plan 7 Tube 2021.
The whole park containing approximately 9 hectares. ,
(c) in the description of Kootenay Lake Park by repealing the description of Davis Creek Site and substituting the following:
Davis Creek Site
The land as shown on the Official Plan deposited in the Crown Land Registry as Plan 5 Tube 2024.
The whole site containing approximately 14 hectares. ,
(d) by repealing the description of Naikoon Park and substituting the following:
NAIKOON PARK
All those parcels or tracts of Crown land, together with all that foreshore or land covered by water, situated in Queen Charlotte District and contained within the described boundaries as shown on the Official Plan deposited in the Crown Land Registry as Plan 3 Tube 2024.
The whole park containing approximately 69 149 hectares (67 039 hectares of upland and 2 110 hectares of foreshore). ,
(e) by repealing the description of Valhalla Park and substituting the following:
VALHALLA PARK
All those parcels or tracts of Crown land, together with all that foreshore or land covered by water, situated in Kootenay District and contained within the described boundaries as shown on the Official Plan deposited in the Crown Land Registry as Plan 4 Tube 2024.
The whole park containing approximately 50 159 hectares. , and
(f) in the description of West Arm Park by striking out "and (6) Mineral Claim 234936" and substituting "(6) Mineral Claim 234936; and (7) the 10 metres on either side of the constructed centreline of Svoboda Road" and by striking out "26 199 hectares" and substituting "26 197 hectares".
CLAUSE 4: [Protected Areas of British Columbia Act, Schedule D]
4 Schedule D is amended
(a) by repealing the description of Edge Hills Park and substituting the following:
EDGE HILLS PARK
All those parcels or tracts of Crown land, together with all that foreshore or land covered by water, situated in Lillooet District and contained within the described boundaries as shown on the Official Plan deposited in the Crown Land Registry as Plan 2 Tube 2024; except (1) Mineral Claim "Stag 2" 208889; (2) Placer Claim "Timer 3" 838199; and (3) Placer Claim "Happy2" 1024809.
The whole park containing approximately 11 855 hectares. ,
(b) by repealing the description of Gladstone Park and substituting the following:
GLADSTONE PARK
All those parcels or tracts of Crown land, together with all that foreshore or land covered by water, situated in Similkameen Division, Yale District and contained within the described boundaries as shown on the Official Plan deposited in the Crown Land Registry as Plan 6 Tube 2021.
The whole park containing approximately 39 510 hectares. ,
(c) by repealing the description of Hole-in-the-Wall Park and substituting the following:
HOLE-IN-THE-WALL PARK
All those parcels or tracts of Crown land, together with all that foreshore or land covered by water, situated in Peace River District and contained within the described boundaries as shown on the Official Plan deposited in the Crown Land Registry as Plan 6 Tube 2024.
The whole park containing approximately 151 hectares. , and
(d) by repealing the description of Purcell Wilderness Conservancy Park and substituting the following:
PURCELL WILDERNESS CONSERVANCY PARK
All those parcels or tracts of Crown land, together with all that foreshore or land covered by water, situated in Kootenay District and contained within the described boundaries as shown on the Official Plan deposited in the Crown Land Registry as Plan 6 Tube 2019.
The whole park containing approximately 201 913 hectares.
CLAUSE 5: [Protected Areas of British Columbia Act, Schedule D] repeals and replaces the description of Okanagan Mountain Park and changes the size of the park consequential to the amendments.
5 Schedule D is amended by repealing the description of Okanagan Mountain Park and substituting the following:
OKANAGAN MOUNTAIN PARK
All those parcels or tracts of Crown land, together with all that foreshore or land covered by water, situated in Similkameen Division, Yale District and contained within the described boundaries as shown on the Official Plan deposited in the Crown Land Registry as Plan 8 Tube 2024.
The whole park containing approximately 11 321 hectares.
CLAUSE 6: [Protected Areas of British Columbia Act, Schedule D] repeals and replaces the description of Omineca Park and changes the size of the park consequential to the amendments.
6 Schedule D is amended by repealing the description of Omineca Park and substituting the following:
OMINECA PARK
All those parcels or tracts of Crown land, together with all that foreshore or land covered by water, situated in Cassiar District and contained within the described boundaries as shown on the Official Plan deposited in the Crown Land Registry as Plan 7 Tube 2024.
The whole park containing approximately 132 417 hectares.
CLAUSE 7: [Rescission of ecological reserve] rescinds the establishment by order in council of an ecological reserve, which is replaced with the description added by this Bill to Schedule A of the Protected Areas of British Columbia Act.
7 The establishment of Big White Mountain Ecological Reserve by Order in Council 1166/72 is rescinded.
8 The provisions of this Act referred to in column 1 of the following table come into force as set out in column 2 of the table:

CLAUSE 7: [Rescission of ecological reserve] rescinds the establishment by order in council of an ecological reserve, which is replaced with the description added by this Bill to Schedule A of the Protected Areas of British Columbia Act.
