PRESERVING BRUNSWICK POINT FOR AGRICULTURE AND MIGRATING WATERFOWL HABITAT ACT

HER MAJESTY, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of the Province of British Columbia, enacts as follows:

Definition

1  In this Act:

"Crown land" has the same meaning as in the Land Act.

Preserving Brunswick Point Lands

2  Brunswick Point Crown land, in the Agricultural Land Reserve which has

(a) farm use covenant, restricting lands to agricultural use, or

(b) conservation covenant, conserving the lands for soil-based agriculture and migratory bird habitat and resting grounds,

must be kept as Crown land and leased to either the original farm families or other local farmers looking to lease additional lands for a minimum lease term of 20 years.

Commencement

2  This Act comes into force on the date it receives Royal Assent.
