HER MAJESTY, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of the Province of British Columbia, enacts as follows:

1 Section 2 (2) (a) of the Name Act, R.S.B.C. 1996, c.328, is repealed and the following is substituted:

(a) a change in the surname of one spouse to the surname of the other spouse or to the surname of both spouses, hyphenated or combined;

2 Section 3 is amended:

(a) in paragraph (b) by striking out "or"

(b) in paragraph (c) by striking out "marriage." and substituting "marriage, or" and

(c) adding the following paragraph:

(d) use the surname of both spouses, hyphenated or combined.
