L. Popham: I rise to present a petition, upon the request of my constituent Lavinia Rojas, with respect to the profoundly important issue of animal welfare on farms in the province of British Columbia. There is a register of 1,240 names.

Donaldson: I rise to present a petition on behalf of an additional over 100 residents of the Upper Skeena, writing to the provincial government to ask for support for the Upper Skeena recreation centre in the village of Hazelton, for the youth there, in order for them to be able to continue their recreational activities, including figure skating and ice hockey.

V. Huntington: Unfortunately, the class isn't here yet, but I would like the House to welcome, in absentia, the class of 29 from Cliff Drive Elementary School, accompanied by their teacher and many of their parents. If the House would make them welcome, I would appreciate it.

[Further to the motion adopted on February 24, 2015, that the date for the Special Committee on Local Elections Expense Limits to examine, inquire into and make recommendations to the Legislative Assembly regarding its Phase 2 work be amended to read by June 26, 2015.]

Hon. M. de Jong: I move that the reports of resolutions from the Committees of Supply on March 3, 9, 11, 12, 24, 25, 26; April 14, 21, 28; and May 4, 6, 12, 14, 26 and 28 be now received, taken as read and agreed to.

Hon. M. de Jong: Madame Speaker, I move that there be granted to Her Majesty from and out of the consolidated revenue fund the sum of $36,749,151,000 towards defraying the charges and expenses of the public service of the province for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2016. This sum includes that authorized to be paid under section 1 of the Supply Act (No. 1), 2015.

Motion approved.

Hon. M. de Jong: Madame Speaker, I move that there be granted to Her Majesty from and out of the consolidated revenue fund the sum of $737,906,000 towards defraying the disbursements for capital expenditures, loans, investments and other financing requirements of the province for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2016. This sum includes that authorized to be paid under section 2 of the Supply Act (No. 1), 2015.

BILL 28 — SUPPLY ACT, 2015-2016

Hon. M. de Jong presented a message from Her Honour the Lieutenant-Governor: a bill intituled Supply Act, 2015-2016.

Hon. M. de Jong: I move that Bill 28 be introduced and read a first time now.

Motion approved.

Hon. M. de Jong: This supply bill is introduced to authorize funding for the operation of government programs for the 2015-16 fiscal year. The House has already received, taken as read and agreed to the reports of resolutions from the Committees of Supply after consideration of the main estimates.

In addition, the House has resolved that there be granted from and out of the consolidated revenue fund the necessary funds towards defraying the charges, expenses and disbursements of the public service of the province for fiscal year ending March 31, 2016.

It is the intention of the government to proceed with all stages of the supply bill this day.

Hon. M. de Jong: I move that the House, at its rising, do stand adjourned until it appears to the satisfaction of the Speaker, after consultation with the government, that the public interest requires the House shall meet or until the Speaker may be advised by the government that it is desired to prorogue the fourth session of the 40th parliament of the province of B.C. The Speaker may give notice that she is so satisfied or has been so advised, and thereupon the House shall meet at the time stated in such notice and, as the case may be, may transact its business as if it had been duly adjourned to that time and date. And that in the event of the Speaker being unable to act owing to illness or other cause, the Deputy Speaker shall act in her stead for the purpose of this order.

Madame Speaker, with thanks to all of those who have assisted us through this session, safe travels, best wishes, à la prochaine fois.
