Prorogation Address

Hon. J. Guichon (Lieutenant-Governor): Madame Speaker and Members of the Legislative Assembly, in closing this third session of the 40th parliament of British Columbia, on behalf of all British Columbians, I note that in this session we enacted eight bills covering areas of substance and importance to the people of this province.

I wish to express my appreciation for the care and attention you have given to your deliberations and the service you have provided to our great and beautiful province. I now relieve you of your duties. “Splendor sine occasu.”

As I depart today, I would like to draw attention to the Team B.C. scarf that I’m wearing. Later this week the Premier will greet athletes from across the country at the Canada Winter Games, hosted by the city of Prince George and the Lheidli T’enneh First Nation. Let’s all support our great athletes. Go, Team B.C.!
