RATIFICATION OF MEMBERSHIP
OF SELECT STANDING
AND SPECIAL COMMITTEES
Hon. M. de Jong: Mr. Speaker, in a few moments this session of the Legislative Assembly will prorogue, and all the committees I'm about to refer to will temporarily cease to exist. I've provided to my friend the Opposition House Leader and, I think, all the independent members of the Legislature a copy of the motion.
The motion seeks to validate three agreements that were arrived at, relating as follows: to all of the select standing committees, effective September 17, 2012, and this relates to membership on those committees; a second written agreement between the Government and Opposition House Leaders relating to membership substitution for the Select Standing Committee on Public Accounts, effective November 5, 2012; and a third written agreement between the two House Leaders relating to membership substitution for the Special Committee to Inquire into the Use of Conducted Energy Weapons and to Audit Selected Police Complaints that was effective January 18, 2013.
I'm happy to read the motion into the record, if members wish. On the other hand, I'm also happy to table it on the basis that it has been provided to all members and ask for member support.
By leave, I move:
