Tabling Documents

The Speaker: Members, I have the honour to present the following documents: auditor general 2000-01 report No. 3, "Follow-up of Performance and Compliance Audits"; auditor general report, "Strategic Direction and Funding Proposal -- February 2001"; and the office of the child, youth and family advocate 2000 annual report.

I'd like to advise that the Lieutenant-Governor is in the precincts. I would ask members to remain seated for his arrival.

Prorogation Address

Hon. G. Gardom (Lieutenant-Governor): Mr. Speaker and hon. members, in closing the fourth session of the thirty-sixth parliament of our province, I wish to commend you on the accomplishments of the past year. The session has seen the passage of measures of wide-ranging and significant importance to the people of our province. Hon. members, on behalf of all British Columbians, I wish to express my appreciation for the care and attention that you've given to your deliberations. I now relieve you of your duties.

His Honour the Lieutenant-Governor retired from the chamber.

Hon. G. Bowbrick: Hon. Speaker, it is His Honour the Lieutenant-Governor's will and pleasure that the Legislative Assembly be prorogued until 2 p.m. today, and this provincial Legislative Assembly is hereby prorogued accordingly.
