Afternoon Sitting
[ Page 615 ]
The House met at 2:00 p.m.
MR. SPEAKER: The Honourable the First Member for Vancouver Centre.
MR. H.P. CAPOZZI (Vancouver Centre): Mr. Speaker, I'd like to rise on a Point of Order. Yesterday, some statements were made by the Liberal Leader which I believe have placed a terrible cloud of suspicion, most undeservedly, on a company operating in the Victoria area. The statements made by the Leader which were inaccurate and unfounded and, if issued outside of the House, would have been libelous.
MR. SPEAKER: Order, please. Was this statement made in the House itself?
MR. CAPOZZI: No, it was made in committee, Mr. Speaker.
MR. SPEAKER: I must point out, with respect to the honourable Member, that the House has no knowledge of what transpires in the committee. The Point of Order might be more properly raised in the Committee itself.
MR. CAPOZZI: In the committee? Thank you.
Pursuant to Order, the House again resolved itself into the Committee of Supply.
The Committee rose, reported Resolution 127, (Estimates of the Department of Labour), and asked leave to sit again.
The House adjourned at 5:54 p.m.
