Election of Chair and Deputy Chair
K. Riarh (Committee Clerk): Good morning, everyone. My name is Karan Riarh. I’m the Clerk to the Special Committee on Reforming the Police Act. I’d like to call this meeting to order.
As it is the first meeting of the committee for the third session of the 42nd parliament, it is my honour, as Committee Clerk, to oversee the election of a Chair.
Do we have any nominations for Chair of the committee?
R. Singh: I nominate Doug Routley for Chair.
K. Riarh (Committee Clerk): Thank you, Rachna.
Doug, do you accept?
D. Routley: Yes, thank you.
K. Riarh (Committee Clerk): Do we have any other nominations? Any other nominations? A third and final time, any other nominations?
The question is that Doug Routley take the role of Chair of the committee.
Motion approved.

K. Riarh (Committee Clerk): Congrats, Chair.
D. Routley (Chair): Thank you, Members.
That gives me, now, the privilege of running the election for Deputy Chair. Are there any nominations for Deputy Chair?
T. Halford: I nominate Dan Davies for Deputy Chair.
D. Routley (Chair): Dan, do you accept that nomination?
D. Davies: All right. I guess I will.
D. Routley (Chair): Uncertainty. Any other nominations? Any other nominations? Once again, any more nominations for Deputy Chair?
The question is that MLA Dan Davies take the role of Deputy Chair.

D. Routley (Chair): Congratulations, Deputy Chair.
D. Davies (Deputy Chair): Thank you. Congratulations, Chair.
