Election of Chair and Deputy Chair
J. Arril (Clerk of Committees): Good morning, committee members.
As this is the first meeting of the Select Standing Committee on Finance and Government Services for the third session of the 42nd parliament, it is my honour as Clerk of Committees to oversee the election of Chair.
Do we have any nominations for Chair of the committee?
H. Sandhu: I nominate Janet Routledge.
J. Arril (Clerk of Committees): Janet, do you accept the nomination?
J. Routledge: I do.
J. Arril (Clerk of Committees): Any further nominations? Any further nominations? A third and final time.
The question is that Janet take the role as Chair of the committee.
Motion approved.

J. Arril (Clerk of Committees): Congratulations, Janet.
J. Routledge (Chair): Thank you.
Now we will elect a Deputy Chair.
Are there any nominations from the floor for the position of Deputy Chair?
B. Stewart: I’d like to nominate Karin Kirkpatrick, the member for West Vancouver–Capilano.
J. Routledge (Chair): Do you accept the nomination, Karin?
K. Kirkpatrick: Yes, Chair.
J. Routledge (Chair): Are there any other further nominations? A second time. For the third time, any further nominations?
Then the question is for Karin to take the role of Deputy Chair.

J. Routledge (Chair): Welcome to the position.
Before we wrap up today, is there any other business for right now?
