Election of Chair and Deputy Chair
J. Arril (Clerk of Committees): As this is the first meeting of the Select Standing Committee on Finance and Government Services for the second session of the 42nd parliament, it’s my honour as Clerk of Committees to oversee the election of the Chair.
Do we have any nominations for the Chair of the committee?
B. Stewart: I’ll make a motion that we nominate MLA Janet Routledge.
J. Arril (Clerk of Committees): Thank you, Ben.
Janet, do you accept the nomination?
J. Routledge: I certainly do. Thank you.
J. Arril (Clerk of Committees): All right. Any further nominations? Any further nominations? A third and final time, any further nominations?
The question is that Janet Routledge take the chair, as Chairperson of the committee.
Motion approved.

J. Arril (Clerk of Committees): Congratulations, Chair.
J. Routledge (Chair): Thank you very much.
I guess now we will move on to the election of the Deputy Chair.
Do we have any nominations for the position of Deputy Chair?
P. Alexis: I’d like to nominate Ben Stewart, the MLA for Kelowna West.
J. Routledge (Chair): Are there any further nominations, for the second time? Any further nominations, for a third time? I’ll call the nominations closed.
Ben, will you accept the position of Deputy Chair?
B. Stewart: I do, Chair.
Motion approved.
J. Routledge (Chair): Ben, you are the Deputy Chair. Thank you.
Now I would entertain a motion to move in camera.
Motion approved.
The committee continued in camera from 9:34 a.m. to 10:31 a.m.

J. Routledge (Chair): We are now out of camera. We’re now back in the regular meeting.
I will be happy to entertain a motion to adjourn. Harwinder moves the motion.
