The Chair called the Committee to order at 8:02 a.m.
2.
Resolved, that the Committee meet in camera to deliberate on its draft report to the House. (Nicholas Simons, MLA)
3.
The Committee met in camera from 8:03 a.m. to 9:15 a.m.
4.
The Committee continued in public session at 9:15 a.m.
5.
Resolved, that the Committee approve and adopt the report on the Budget 2021 Consultation as amended today and further, that the Committee authorize the Chair and Deputy Chair to work with Committee staff to finalize any further editorial changes to complete the supporting text. (Ronna‑Rae Leonard, MLA)
6.
Resolved, that the Chair of the Select Standing Committee on Finance and Government Services present the Committee’s report on the Budget 2021 Consultation to the Legislative Assembly at the earliest available opportunity. (Donna Barnett, MLA)
7.
The Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair at 9:19 a.m.

B. D’Eith (Chair): Welcome back to the Select Standing Committee on Finance and Government Services. I’d like to bring the committee to order.

If I could have a motion to go in camera, please.

N. Simons: So moved.

B. D’Eith (Chair): We are back with the Select Standing Committee on Finance and Government Services.

Before we move any further, I did want to, on the record, thank all of the members. Of course, my co-Chair, Doug Clovechok. Donna, Mitzi, Ronna-Rae, Nicholas and Rich Coleman: thank you so much.

Also, the staff. Susan Sourial and Karan and Natalie and Katey: thank you so much. For the record, this was probably double the amount of work that would normally happen.

Of course, I want to thank the people of British Columbia for participating in such a profound way in the budget consultations. Thanks to everyone for that.

D. Clovechok (Deputy Chair): Can I just say, Bob, on behalf of all the ones that you just thanked, all the ones that you just thanked thank you. You did a great job too.

Committee Report to the House

BUDGET CONSULTATION REPORT

B. D’Eith (Chair): If we could have some motions.

Did someone want to make the motion?

R. Leonard: I move:

[That the Committee approve and adopt the report on the Budget 2021 Consultation as amended today and further, that the Committee authorize the Chair and Deputy Chair to work with Committee staff to finalize any further editorial changes to complete the supporting text.]
