The Chair called the Committee to order at 2:01 p.m.
2.
Resolved, that the Committee meet in camera to deliberate on its draft report to the House. (Dan Ashton, MLA)
3.
The Committee met in camera from 2:02 p.m. to 2:19 p.m.
4.
The Committee continued in public session at 2:19 p.m.
5.
Resolved, that the Select Standing Committee on Finance and Government Services approve and adopt the report entitled Annual Review of the Budgets of Statutory Offices as amended today and further, that the Committee authorize the Chair and Deputy Chair to work with committee staff to finalize any further editorial changes to complete the supporting text. Resolved, that the Chair of the Select Standing Committee on Finance and Government Services deposit a copy of the report entitled Annual Review of the Budgets of Statutory Offices with the Clerk of the Legislative Assembly; and further, that upon resumption of the sittings of the House, or at the next following session, the Chair present the report to the Legislative Assembly at the earliest available opportunity. B. D’Eith (Chair): Today we are reviewing the draft report of the annual review of the budget of statutory offices.

I’d like to have a motion to go in camera.

D. Ashton (Deputy Chair): So moved.

Motion approved.

STATUTORY OFFICERS BUDGET REPORT

B. D’Eith (Chair): It would be very helpful if someone who’s there could make the motion.

D. Ashton (Deputy Chair): I’ve got them.

B. D’Eith (Chair): Thanks, Dan.

D. Ashton (Deputy Chair): I move:

[That the Select Standing Committee on Finance and Government Services approve and adopt the report entitled Annual Review of the Budgets of Statutory Offices as amended today and further, that the Committee authorize the Chair and Deputy Chair to work with committee staff to finalize any further editorial changes to complete the supporting text.]

B. D’Eith (Chair): Thank you very much, Members. I wanted to wish everyone a very, very happy holiday season. Everybody worked very hard this fall.

I also wanted to thank Kate and Karan and everyone in the Clerk’s office for once again being stellar and doing such hard work for us and, of course, everyone in Hansard. Thanks, you guys.

Thanks, everybody. I really appreciate it.

Dan, I don’t know if you wanted to add anything else.

D. Ashton (Deputy Chair): Bob, I would just like to continue what you said to Kate and Karan and all the staff, Hansard, and especially to all of the committee members. Thank you. It’s been an absolute pleasure working with you. I look forward to being on the road again, subject to appointments coming up. But we’ll take it from there.

On behalf of my family, please have a wonderful, wonderful Christmas and a healthy and happy 2020. Can you believe it?
