Budget Consultation Planning
B. D’Eith (Chair): Good morning, everyone. I’d like to bring the Select Standing Committee on Finance and Government Services to order, Wednesday, April 10, 2019.
Before I get started, I did want to take a moment to thank our past members Stephanie Cadieux, Tracy Redies, Peter Milobar and Sonia Furstenau, who did great work on the committee — I really appreciate it — and also thank the new members, Rich Coleman and Doug Clovechok.
Thank you so much for coming on board.
Of course, Mitzi Dean, Ronna-Rae and Nick Simons are on the committee as well.
I just wanted to thank Dan Ashton, as well, for his continued work as the Deputy Chair.
I really appreciate everything you do, Dan.
We have the new iteration.
D. Ashton (Deputy Chair): Just before we go any further, it’s with great appreciation of the work that you do, sir — and the staff. I mean, it runs very, very smoothly for a mixed committee. I just want to give you my accolades and to say keep up the good work, because you do a very good job. So thank you.
B. D’Eith (Chair): Thanks, Dan. I appreciate that.
Of course, I’d like to echo the staff. Thank you so much for everything you do. It’s a big job, and we’re just one of many committees. So we appreciate it.
Today we’re going to talk about the Budget 2020 consultation process planning. Could I have a motion to go in camera, please?
D. Ashton (Deputy Chair): So moved.
Motion approved.
The committee continued in camera from 8:04 a.m. to 9:01 a.m.
[B. D’Eith in the chair.]
B. D’Eith (Chair): Thank you very much for the discussion, everyone. We now have a wonderful plan for our trip and for our outreach.
Thanks very much to the staff.
If I could have a motion to adjourn.
Motion approved.
The committee adjourned at 9:02 a.m.
