Deliberations
N. Simons (Chair): Good morning, committee members. It’s a pleasure to see you all again.
I know we have a lot of work ahead of us, and I’m looking forward to getting into the thick of this issue and this topic. Hopefully, we’ll be able to come up with maybe some recommendations or comments to make to the ministry, to various ministries, on how we might be able to take what we learned from the community members and hope to translate that into, potentially, better services.
In order to conduct these deliberations, we first would like to go in camera. I’d look for a motion to go in camera.
R. Leonard: So moved.
N. Simons (Chair): Moved by Ronna-Rae, seconded by Michelle.
We are in camera.
The committee continued in camera from 10:02 a.m. to 4:28 p.m.
[N. Simons in the chair.]
N. Simons (Chair): We’re now on the air. Thank you for the discussions today. They were really…. It’s not an easy topic to get our heads around.
I have to thank the Clerk’s office for all the research work and all the keeping us together.
Thanks to each committee member for travelling here and for staying till tomorrow, when we have our second day of deliberations.
At this point, I’d like to congratulate the Deputy Chair, Michelle, on being inducted to the Manitoba Sports Hall of Fame. I’m glad our committee is now a Hall of Fame committee.
With that, I look for a motion to adjourn.
Moved, seconded.
We are adjourned.
The committee adjourned at 4:29 p.m.
