1. There not yet being a Chair elected to serve the Committee, the meeting was called to order at 12:01 p.m. by the Clerk to the Committee.
2. Resolved, that Linda Larson, MLA, be elected Chair of the Select Standing Committee on Health. (Judy Darcy, MLA)
3. Resolved, that Judy Darcy, MLA, be elected Deputy Chair of the Select Standing Committee on Health. (Dr. Darryl Plecas, MLA)
4. The Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair at 12:02 p.m.

Election of Chair and Deputy Chair
S. Sourial (Clerk Assistant, Committees and Interparliamentary Relations): Good afternoon, committee members, and welcome. As this is the first meeting of the committee of the sixth session of the 40th parliament, our first duty is to elect a Chair of the committee. Are there any nominations?
J. Darcy: I nominate Linda Larson.
S. Sourial (Clerk Assistant): Judy has nominated Linda. Darryl seconded. Any other nominations? Any other nominations? And a third time, any other nominations? No.
Linda, do you accept?
L. Larson: Yes, I do, thank you.
[L. Larson in the chair.]
L. Larson (Chair): Second order of business is to elect the Deputy Chair. I can’t nominate. Somebody needs to nominate.
D. Plecas: I will nominate Judy Darcy.
L. Larson (Chair): Thank you, Darryl. Seconder? Sue.
Any other nominations from the floor? Any other nominations? Calling a third time.
