1. The Chair called the Committee to order at 3:05 p.m.
2. The Deputy Clerk and Clerk of Committees provided a brief update on the status of the data analysis requested of Elections BC.
3. Resolved, that the Committee meet in-camera to discuss preparation of its draft report. (Mike Bernier, MLA)
4. The Committee met in-camera from 3:07 p.m. to 3:54 p.m.
5. The Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair at 3:54 p.m.

J. Tegart (Chair): Good afternoon. I’m going to call to order the Special Committee on Local Elections Expense Limits.
We’re going to give consideration to the draft report, but I’m first going to ask if Kate….
Interjection.
J. Tegart (Chair): Well, I’m going to ask Kate to give an update on the stats from Elections B.C.
Update on Elections B.C.
Data Analysis
K. Ryan-Lloyd (Deputy Clerk and Clerk of Committees): Good afternoon, Members.
The work that is underway to prepare an analysis of the 2014 local elections spending data is still underway. We have been in regular contact with Elections B.C. Although we were hopeful that we might receive some preliminary information and analysis last week, unfortunately, we did not. So we are continuing to keep in touch with them, and we’ll certainly let you know as soon as that information is received.
I think that the original intention of today’s meeting was to have an opportunity to undertake a preliminary discussion of that data. As a result, the Chair has suggested a review of your draft report. As soon as the information is received, we’ll also be working to make it available on your website as per earlier discussions. So we’re looking forward to its arrival, and we will keep you posted.
J. Tegart (Chair): Any questions to Kate? Seeing none, I would entertain a motion to move in camera. Moved by MLA Bernier. Seconded by Jenny.
