Committee Report to the House
C. James (Deputy Chair): I’d like to move a motion, Chair: “That the Select Standing Committee on Finance and Government Services approve and adopt the report entitled Report on the Budget 2015 Consultations, as amended today, and further, that the committee authorize the Chair and Deputy Chair to work with committee staff to finalize any minor editorial changes to complete the supporting text.”
D. Ashton (Chair): Any discussion on this motion?
Motion approved.
D. Ashton (Chair): Carried unanimously.
Carole, the next one?
C. James (Deputy Chair): I have a second motion: “That the Chair of the Select Standing Committee on Finance and Government Services deposit a copy of the report entitled Report on Budget 2015 Consultations with the Clerk of the Legislative Assembly, and further, that upon resumption of the sittings of the House or at the next following session, the Chair shall present the report to the Legislative Assembly at the earliest available opportunity.”
D. Ashton (Chair): Any discussion on this?
Motion approved.
D. Ashton (Chair): Carried unanimously.
Susan, anything else you need?
S. Sourial (Committee Clerk): That’s it, Mr. Chair.
Members, we will forward a copy of the final report to members along with a media advisory once all of that has been approved and is ready to go.
D. Ashton (Chair): Okay. Susan, this will become public the minute that is done. Is that correct?
S. Sourial (Committee Clerk): I’m sorry. The minute when…?
D. Ashton (Chair): It will become public when it’s received by the Clerk’s department. Is that correct?
S. Sourial (Committee Clerk): That’s right.
D. Ashton (Chair): That could be as early….
S. Sourial (Committee Clerk): It could be as early as tomorrow morning, late tomorrow morning or early tomorrow afternoon.
D. Ashton (Chair): Perfect. Would you send that out and let us all know, please?
S. Sourial (Committee Clerk): Yes.
D. Ashton (Chair): Okay. Anything else from anyone or for staff?
C. James (Deputy Chair): I just want to say thank you to you as Chair and to the other committee members and, most importantly, a thank-you to staff for the incredible work on this committee. It’s a lot of travel. It’s a lot of pulling recommendations together. I think we’ve had extraordinary support by our staff, so a thank-you to all of them from all of us.
D. Ashton (Chair): Can’t say it any better, Carole. Thank you for saying that. That was great.
From myself to each and every one, all members, thank you very much for your input. I really enjoyed working with everybody. I look forward to seeing you.
G. Heyman: I’m sure all those sentiments are unanimous.
D. Ashton (Chair): Thanks, George.
A motion to adjourn then? Have a wonderful day, everyone.
Motion approved.
The committee adjourned at 11 a.m.
