1. There not yet being a Chair elected to serve the Committee, the meeting was called to order at 11:59 am by the Deputy Clerk and Clerk of Committees.
2. Resolved, that Bruce Ralston, MLA, be elected Chair of the Select Standing Committee on Public Accounts. (John Rustad, MLA).
3. Resolved, that Douglas Horne, MLA, be elected Deputy Chair of the Select Standing Committee on Public Accounts (Kathy Corrigan, MLA).
4. The Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair at 12 noon.

Election of Chair and Deputy Chair
K. Ryan-Lloyd (Deputy Clerk and Clerk of Committees): Good afternoon, Members, and welcome to the first meeting of the Select Standing Committee on Public Accounts for the current fifth session of the 39th parliament. As the committee has not yet convened and there has not yet been a member elected to serve as your Chair, I'd like to open the floor to nominations to the position of Chair.
J. Rustad: I move Bruce Ralston as Chair.
K. Ryan-Lloyd (Clerk of Committees): Thank you.
Are there any other nominations? Any other nominations? Any other nominations?
Mr. Ralston, would you accept nomination?
B. Ralston: I do.
K. Ryan-Lloyd (Clerk of Committees): Okay. With that, I will put the question to the committee.
Motion approved.

B. Ralston (Chair): The election of the Deputy Chair is the next order of business. Are there nominations for the position of Deputy Chair?
K. Corrigan: I nominate Doug Horne.
B. Ralston (Chair): Douglas Horne has been nominated. Are there any further nominations? Any further nominations? Any further nominations?
Douglas Horne, do you accept? I think he does.
Motion approved.
B. Ralston (Chair): Is there a motion to adjourn?
