TUESDAY, JANUARY 10, 2012
The committee met at 10:13 a.m.
[B. Bennett in the chair.]
B. Bennett (Chair): Good morning, ladies and gentlemen. Happy new year. We've got until about two o'clock today. I wanted to start by just welcoming everybody back to the committee. I hope everyone had a restful vacation, time off, around Christmas and the new year.
I'm hoping that we can spend some quality time together over the next couple of months and finish this up sooner rather than later, but I know it's going to take us some time. There are over 9,000 submissions, and there's an awful lot of information that we're going to have to sort through.
I wanted to thank the research staff and Kate and Susan and particularly Morgan and Josie. And I think there's a young fellow that's not here today, Gordon, who had a hand in this as well. If you've gone through the materials, you can see there was an enormous amount of work done, and it was really nicely organized and easy to follow. Really an excellent job — so job well done.
Today we're going to spend I think the bulk of our time, depending on how long it takes to go through this and depending on how many questions that you all have, going through the summaries that have been done. Starting with the first….
Do you want to hold up the first document, Josie? We'll start with that document and then go through the rest of them. But before we do that, I need a motion to go into camera.
J. Slater: So moved.
The committee continued in camera from 10:15 a.m. to 2:15 p.m.
[B. Bennett in the chair.]
B. Bennett (Chair): Well, that was an excellent discussion, Members, and I hope that we can have as good a discussion tomorrow. We'll see everybody at 10 a.m. tomorrow morning.
Motion to adjourn?
Motion approved.
The committee adjourned at 2:15 p.m.
