1. There not yet being a Chair elected to serve the Committee, the meeting was called to order at 12:01 p.m. by the Clerk Assistant and Acting Clerk of Committees.

2. Resolved, that Bruce Ralston, MLA be elected Chair of the Select Standing Committee on Public Accounts. (John Les, MLA)

3. Resolved, that Douglas Horne, MLA be elected Deputy Chair of the Select Standing Committee on Public Accounts. (Randy Hawes, MLA)

4. The Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair at 12:02 p.m.

Election of Chair and Deputy Chair

K. Ryan-Lloyd (Clerk Assistant and Acting Clerk of Committees): Good afternoon, committee members. As this is the first meeting of the Select Standing Committee on Public Accounts for the third session of the 39th parliament, I'd like to call the meeting to order and open up the floor to nominations for the position of Chair of this committee.

J. Les: I move Bruce Ralston.

K. Ryan-Lloyd (Acting Clerk of Committees): Are there any further nominations? Seeing none, I'll put the question on the motion.

Motion approved.

[B. Ralston in the chair.]

B. Ralston (Chair): I'll now call for a nomination for the position of Deputy Chair.

R. Hawes: I nominate Doug Horne.

B. Ralston (Chair): Doug Horne has been nominated. Are there any further nominations? Any further nominations? Any further nominations?

Do you accept?

D. Horne: I do.

B. Ralston (Chair): Okay. I declare Douglas Horne Deputy Chair. I'm looking now for a motion to adjourn.
